"Work on your business, not in your business..." but how?
As a business leader we often hear the phrase, "you need to work on your business, not in your business.” I firmly believe this to be true – the challenge is that it is hard to actually do! Although it is a simple concept, many, including myself, struggle with implementing this into action. I've personally had to invest time and effort into implementing this in my own business.
Securing your legacy to the third generation
We know that ensuring the transfer of a family’s wealth, legacy and values is usually of utmost importance to the first generation. Unfortunately, 70 percent of wealthy families lose their wealth by the end of the second generation and 90 percent by the end of the third generation. It is intuitive that thoughtful estate planning documents are critical for those families who hope to defy the odds.
Planning beyond the buy-sell: ownership structure considerations for closely held business owners
Most closely held business owners recognize that a properly drafted and current buy-sell agreement is an important document that addresses what happens to an owner’s interest in the company in the event of divorce, disability or death. What is not commonly known is that how owners hold their respective interests in the company also requires close consideration.

New Riff Distilling is this month's member spotlight! New Riff is one of our newest members joining in 2019. New Riff is a family owned business that was founded in 2004 and specializes in distilling bourbon. This month they brought home double gold medals in five different categories from the 2019 San Francisco's World Spirits Competition. Way to represent, Congrats!

Mike Sipple, Jr.'s company, Centennial, has been a member of the Center since 2007. Mike has been an engaged volunteer over the years - he is an active member of our Board of Advisors and Program Committee, has spoken as a panelist and is an advocate for our mission.
